Sand, near Sidmouth is a beautiful place. The hosts there are Matthew and Gertrud. They are restoring the place with help of a lot of Workawayers. The estate is over 400 years old, a truly amazing place to be. So many old details still to be found in and around the house.

There were around 10 Workawayers around during the 4 weeks I stayed there. All very talented craftsman and women (glaziers, arborists, plasterers, furniture builders). Some of them also lived in camper vans. It was great to connect to them, gather around a campfire in the evening and share a story or two. Or gather around the dining table in the house and play some cards.

Sidmouth is a very beautiful area to walk around. Just follow the signs they've put up, no chance of getting lost.
