Unfortunately the workshop on Authentic Relating which I wanted to share about, was canceled. There were not enough participants. So let me share about something else. Last week I participated in an online family constellation with 3 other people. Each of us looked at the same 3 subjects, represented by the other 3 participants:

  • Soul Purpose
  • Embodiment
  • Relationships
Before looking at these 3 subjects, we imagined our ancestors behind us.

Soul Purpose.
The reason you exist. Why are you here on earth, what do you give to others? It didn't have to be clear what our Soul Purpose was, the exercise is just to see how you connect to it.

Embodiment.
How are you connected to your Soul Purpose. Does it feel grounded, do you feel confident? Or is it an unstable and weak feeling you get?

Relationships.
We use Relationships to mirror and project. Mirroring is seeing your own characteristics and features in others, often without realizing that these belong to yourself.
Projecting is hiding or denying characteristics and features in ourselves (or in those close to us) by attributing them to others. This is also often an unconscious behavior.

How do Relationships relate to our Soul Purpose?
Our Soul Purpose has a lot to do with other people, as it is also something that supports them. So if we project on and mirror in others, we cannot see them truly for who they are. This makes it hard to support them in what they might need. We also don't see ourselves for who we are, making it hard to get to know our Soul Purpose.

My Soul Purpose was feeling very flexible. It moved fluently, but didn't feel weak. I felt happy looking at it.

Looking at Embodiment, I felt confident, courage, groundedness and contact with the universe.

Relationships showed me chaos one the left and emptiness on the right side. There were many female, but hardly any male ancestors. There was curiosity and interest in the other.

Looking back at Soul Purpose I noticed the same feelings I had felt when looking at Embodiment.

It was a very interesting exercise, It made me feel even more that this journey is the right thing to do.

Not sure what the lack of man with the ancestors was about. I have the feeling that the women in my family are stronger then the man, who more take the role of victim upon them. I think I need to discuss this with my sister to check how she sees this.
